Application development staffs that build and maintain mainframe application programs to manage business systems have a variety of specialized skills. An integrated development environment, like CA Ideal for CA Datacom, is needed to share storage of batch and online program logic providing version control, an integrated Data Dictionary and the ability to insulate the programmer from transaction manager environmental settings.
